Merry Christmas from "Be Proud, Be A Scout" Erasmus+ Project

The idea behind the Erasmus+ Project "Be proud, Be A Scout” is to convey the ideas of scouting for students and the common life in school. Today, a lot of students have no values in their life and no orientation. It is the same in regular and also in school for students with special needs. This project, gives the chance, in an interesting and powerful frame, to work on this target to learn about values in a community. The group is a mixture of regular students from Portugal, Greece, Finland and some students with behavior, learning and social problems (Germany, Finland) and with visual problems/blind students (Romania).

The ideas of Baden-Powell, founder of the worldwide scout movement, are the foundation of this project. Here are the most important parts, we wish to implement in this project: Meet each person with respect and treat him/her well like brothers and sisters; Be polite and help each other, if help is needed; Learning by doing; Finish your work, even if there are difficulties in your way; Live simple and respect the nature.

Despite COVID-19 restrictions our Project activities continue. When following the links you can see two videos made by students and teachers of the five schools in the project:

The sharing of "Peacelight of Bethelem", which is an initiative to raise money for children with disabilities and special needs. The Portuguese part was made by the Multimedia Course student, Fábio Sales. The other video is like a videoclip of “Feliz Navidad”, an original song from José Feliciano. This version is played in a Barrel Organ, by Arne Heger, a german artist. Nearly seventy students and teachers were involved which proves that, despite the physical distance, it is possible to be together in heart. The final video was edited by the Multimedia course of our school.

Merry Christmas!!!
